Maybe your disc burner is on its way out. They don't last for ever.

There aren't many disk manufacturers nowadays so all your different brands of discs may have come from the same factory.

Try "burning" from DVDA to an image and then use different software to burn the image to disc. Such as Nero or the free ImgBurn. Both have the advantage of being able to verify the burn.

I did both. I burned from DVDA and I created the image and burned from IMG burn. It involves 3 separate duplicators and 4 brands of media including verbatim. The only constant would be the 1 year old DVD burner in my computer. I burned them and played them to test first before trying. 2 separate sandyyang 1-5 and a 1-7 with 2yr old board.

Just seeing if there is anything else I can try. I need to get a dance recital out with 50 copies of 2 discs a piece

When you burnt with IMGBurn did you verify the burn? Trying to narrow down to where the problem might lie.

As for discs Verbatim are no longer produced by Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation as they sold out to CMC Magnetics last year. I mention this as they were a favourite for reliability when produced by MCC. I have some Verbatim BD-RE (Blu-ray rewritables), purchased in 2014, which aren't actually made by MCC (they are CMC) and they are giving me bad burns after about 30 burns. A new disc from the same box gives no problems and neither do my genuine Verbatim BD-R discs. With disc burning rapidly declining the availability and quality of discs may become an issue for those of us that still burn discs.

I've normally had good success with smart buy brand but they have been hard to get the last couple of years. And yes I did verify. I also played through the entire disc prior to making copies.

Please clarify in what way your discs are failing. Do they verify okay when you burn and then not play in a DVD player?
