Trouble Opening Video Projects

Hello. I use Movie Studio Platinum 12 Suite and this is my first time on the forum.

When I try to open a vf file to edit video, the program stallls. A window called "Problem Report" pops up and inside the window it says "Movie Studio Platinum has stopped working".

This happens only with this specific file. When I open other files, it works fine. I really need this file opened. This is an important project.

Please help.

It is possible that your project file is corrupted. Especially since it is the only one you're having trouble with.

Open Windows Explorer and go to the directory folder where your .vf project is saved. Rename it to get it out of the way.

Then locate the file with the same name but with the file suffix .vf.bak. This is a backup of your project file.

Rename the suffix to .vf (ignore the Windows warning) and you should be able to open it in Movie Studio.

I have this same problem and tried the solution above and it still crashes. I was able to search for a file without it crashing, but when I chose one it crashed anyway. I am so discouraged. :(
