I have just installed Windows XP Pro (with SR1) on an Abit KX7-333R 1700 Athlon based machine with 786 Mb RAM with Maxtor HDD's of 120 GB and 160 GB ATA133, 8 Mb buffers. (Win XP Patched current as of today!).
When ever I try to "render" a movie clip with either Video Wave 5.0 (Roxio) or Vegas 4.0c, that exceeds approx.' 1 GB, the process has about a 1 in 3 chance of completing, otherwise the WHOLE machine locks up (no mouse, no "NOTHING"!). Yet if I use the "one glut' solution", "Movie Maker" from MS (included in XP) it "flies" and NEVER locks up???
Is MS trying to sabotage other products? (When will the Linux version of Vegas come out, can we call the FTC on Sony's bid to buyout Sonic Foundry?)
