Here is the problem. After weeks of V4 working fine, suddenly if I render a wmv file in V4(either in WM 8 or WM 9 format, at any resolution, the playback has hesitations (a little like Max Headroom) every few seconds. Now if I render MPEG2 or other formats they play just fine.

I reinstalled V4 twice, have the latest updates of V4, WMPlayer, DirectX 9, and my graphic drivers, --- still hasn't fixed the problem

This happened once before after installing V4 on my system, then I thought I had figured the problem was with a corrupted veg file in some way. The problem went away when I started a new project with new settings. This time around, it has not been corrected.

Any idea where to go next. It seems one of the Windows media encoding files might be corrupted.
