Trying ti find a fix for back lighting,

Have video were the people are too dark and back ground too light, Any suggestion? thanks.

Try the Sony Color Curves, and make a curve that brightens the dark tones, and darkens the bright tones a bit.

An inverted S curve, looking a bit like in this picture, could work.

The commercially available NewBlue Video Essentials II plugin set has a plugin called "Shadows and Highlights" that also addresses this issue quite directly.
