TRV 20. I know I have set this correctly (my camcorder) as I can hear the sound through my computer speakers when I play the VHS tape. When I opened the media pool, it recognizes my camcorder but wants me to insert a tape. If I insert a tape and then hit record, it records what is on the tape in the camcorder, not what I have in my VHS. Any suggestions?
It varies from camera to camera. Mine requries changing a menu item in the camera viewfinder so it is set to 'pass through'. Time to dig out your camera manual.
I had this same problem when I first set up my system a while ago. I would lead you step-by-step but as luck has it I'm actually capturing something at this very moment so I can't open the "Options" in Vegas. So.... going from memory here but I hope this helps.
First, I assume that you enabled digital-to-analog conversion in your camcorder. If not, go to the menu on your camcorder and you'll find an option for this.
Second, I believe that you need to go to the Vegas Capture options and click on the "General" tab and make sure that "Enable DV Device Control" is unchecked.
