Trying to get rid of annoyance

I edit HDV mostly, which plays smoothly in my system. The only time when it doesn't is when I'm playing the timeline and the cursor reaches the end of the current view so it shows the next segment and is starts to render the thumbnails. Each time it renders a thumbnail the playback freezes for a split second, which I find very annoying. Is there a way to force Vegas to show only the first and last frame of each event, rather than all of them? I know that I can choose not to display waveforms and frames, but it's useful to have at least the first and last frame of an event, and the waveforms always to do volume envelopes.

As far as I know there isn't a way to do what you want.
I sort of have to agree, this could be handled better.
I've managed to cure a lot of my Vegas problems in the past by turing off thumbnails and waveforms but it'd be nice if we had the option to just show the first and last frame, not show any or as well as all those permutations and waveforms on/off as well. With HD now all the rave it becomes even more desirable.

Zoom out and fewer thumbnails will be drawn, and less often.

Would be nice if the preview display had higher processor priority than the thumbnails.

You have to choose your subject lines a little more carefully.
I'm sure that I'm not alone in having thought that the thread was going to be about a coonass.
