Trying to understand new 24p functions

Ok. I don't have an AG-DVX100 but I'm trying to fully understand how the 24p thing works.

I created a NTSC DV 24p project in Vegas. I created some text media, actually 6 frames, each frame being a number, so I have one to six. Now, I tried to render this project in different settings. I rendered the media in uncompressed 23.976 as a reference. Then in normal NTSC DV, NTSC DV (Inserting 2-3 pulldown) and NTSC DV (Inserting 2-3-3-2 pulldown). Once all of these were rendered, I aligned them in a new NTSC DV 60i project to compare the frame rates.

Here are my results :

The file rendered in normal NTSC DV takes 8 frames. Here's the cadence :
1-2-3-3-4-5-6-B (B is for black frame, strange)

The file rendered in NTSC DV 24 (inserting 2-3 pulldown)takes 10 frames and had this cadence :
1-2-3-4-4-5-6-6-6-6

The file rendered in NTSC DV 24 (inserting 2-3-3-2 pulldown) took 9 frames and has this cadence :
1-2-3-3-4-5-6-6-6

Is this all normal, I can't seem to recognize the 2-3 and the 2-3-3-2 in those patterns.

Thanks,

Nat
