1. Not sure why you are having issues with 4.0e? Working fine on my end.
2. Excalibur and Tsunami both work with earlier versions of 4.0.
3. Both are very good tools, particularly for those that are still learning Vegas. Some of the plug's capabilities are duplicated by various free scripts, but the bottom line is that these tools put the scripts in a suite, and they function better together than separately.
4. Can't comment on the pricing. That's Ed and Gary's deal.

John,

If you are asking whether Tsunami and Excalibur are too advanced for the beginning Vegas user, I would say you would have no worries at all in that regard. They are both very easy to use.

Yes, Excalibur is great for photo montage work, and is about to get even better.

Getting.Net Framework installed is an extra step, but you have to do that to use any script-baased tools in Vegas.

Sorry, there is no discount for buying both.

There are some problems with Exclaibur/Tsunami on 4E--Ed is aware of them and I believe is beta testing a patch. Just do a search--I think one has to do with creating a wall of images--but don't quote me.

I have V4d and the demo doesn't seem to be working properly: I select 9 stills (on separate tracks as the demonstration video shows) run Tsunami and select 3 X 3 wall and I get 9 images, however they aren't sized evenly; ie the 4th track takes up the lower 3rd of the screen (what I would expect to be tracks 7 - 9) , the 1st track takes up what should be 1 and 2 and the rest are in really weird places or underneath everything else. Anybody else have a problem with the demo?
TIA,
Randy

Let's see if I can answer some of these questions:

1) There are NO issues with Vegas 4.0e and Excalibur - it works fine with 4.0c or above.
2) Vegas 4.0e caused a problem with Tsunami. I've worked on a fix and will have it posted shortly. The upgraded version will work with 4.0d OR 4.0e.
3) There is no price break for purchasing both - in fact they are sold through two different sources.
4) I LOVE Extract Good Clips and use it frequently.
5) Every time I make a photo montage I use Excalibur. The Gap Wizard is great for creating the overlaps.

Any other specific questions?

I have NOT seen this issue. I've always gotten a "Brady Bunch" style screen with 9 equally sized pieces.

I believe we have found the problem. It relates to using stills instead of video. I suspect that all stills will need to be made to 655x480 (NTSC - modify as appropriate for PAL) or rendered to a small AVI file to work correctly because I am using Pan/Crop to resize and position the images. Testing with 9 VIDEO clips works as expected.
