Turn off Preview during Render

Hello All:

In VMS 9.0 you can turn off the preview during render, which I gather helps to minimize the demand on system resources. This is in Options/ Preferences/ General.

I don't find this capability in Pro 10. I'm too new with the Pro version to know if this function exists. Can we turn the preview during render off in Pro 10?

Regards

Kimberly

i'm not too sure whether it uses enough resources to make much of a difference anyway?

wouldn't closing the window turn it off?

Last time i did the experiment the time savings was something like 4 seconds on a 3 hour render. Why bother?

If I recall, V10 scales the preview window according to available resources, so if the program need all the processor power for encoding/rendering, the preview will be degraded. If the processor is waiting for hardware I/O, then it can up the preview quality. (I.E., preview processes have a lower priority)

Click View and uncheck "Video Preview"
