How do I turn off the snap to time???? I’m trying to sync a audio track with the video track of a singer and it will not allow me freely move the clips to put the word with the music
Never tried it but here's something from the manual:
Drag either edge of an event to change its length. The event edge will snap to grid lines if snapping is on. Hold the Shift key while dragging to temporarily suspend snapping.
Also looks like snapping can be turn off by clicking on the upside down "U" in the toolbar. Search manual for "Enable Snapping".
Has nothing to do with " snapping", but all with grouping. Workfow: - select both video and audio track - rightclick one of them and choose at "Group" to ungroup them

How are you trying to sync, a video track to an audio track or an audio track to a video track.
A videotrack normally behaves different on the timeline than an audio track. A video track can be moved on the timeline in increments steps not smaller than the framerate of the project, while an audio track can be moved in smaller steps than the projects framerate. Means exact syncing an audio track to a video track must be no problem when moving the audio track. When you want to exactly sync the video track to an audio track, you should turn off "quantize to frames" in the Options menu.
