If anyone knows of others, please chime in. I'd be interested in what else is out there.

Thanks for all the replies. I was hoping someone has produced a video tutorial similar to the ones offered by Adobe Premier and MSP programs (Total Training Series) Sonic Foundry are you listening??? ;-) I welcome all advise on how to learn this interface in a quick and efficient way!!

Have you tried the excellent hands-pn tutorial that comes with Vegas? It is a interactive step by step to get you up and running that is including with the full manual that's on the Sonic Web site as a PDF file for the full manual which runs over 350 pages.

Sb:
Thank you I will do that. I wasn't aware they had some on cd-rom. I had downloaded the ones "Sample projects" to use with the one in the pdf manual.

I just finished the "A hands-on guide to creating rich multimedia with Vegas Video" tutorial that Sonic is now offering for $50. I highly recommend it. http://www.sonicfoundry.com/products/NewShowProduct.asp?PID=684

Will you please talk a little more about this Curriculum book, and what you found useful? I was considering buying the printed manual, but this may be better geared to my needs. I have a solid familiarity with Vegas, and I'm looking to increase my understanding of masking and compositing techniques.

Thank you all. I have gone through the tutorial included with the Manual and this has helped. I am feeling more sure of myself now :-). I've found this program is quite similar to Media Studio(never used Adobe, tried and did not like it) but they have different terms for the processes. I think that was what confused me initially. I just ordered that hands on book from SonicFoundry as well. Happy editing everyone!! I would be willing to bet there is a market for a step by step video of how to use this program in beginners and advanced iterations? SF are you listening? :-)

Luxo,

I'm new to Vegas Video and my previous NLE experience was with Pinnacle's Studio 7. With that background, I found the SonicFoundry "A hands-on guide to creating rich multimedia with Vegas Video" tutorial very informitive. However, if you are someone who is already familiar with Vegas Video and is looking for a more in-depth curriculum, then you will probably be disappointed with this guide.
