Two Big re-install issues

I recently had a hard drive crash and had to re-install my Vegas 5.0 and DVDA (amongst other things)

I have two problems and wonder if they are related
1) Boris Grafetti wont install because it wont recognize my serial. Which should I use ? I dont seem to have a seperate one for it ..only what was on the Vegas Book and DVDA book ( I have the box set)

2) MORE IMPORTANT - I dont have the font I had before, Did Boris add fonts to vegas ( I dont remember since it was so long ago ) but I need those fonts.

I have another box copy for another machine and IT HAS the fonts like CASTELLER and STOMP xyz , do did they come from my CLICK and DESIGN software ? Help ! Can I pull a lib from the other machine and have all my fonts ? The limited set I have with the normal install ( and yes I added the software update) are lame with the 100 or more I had....

You can install fonts from another machine as far as I know, Windoz has a font installer or you can just copy them into the appropdriate folder. At least that's how I've done it in the past.

Boris had its own serial number that is on a small card in the box. Locate that card to get your serial number.

Hi Bob...would love to copy the fonts BUT where are they and how does Vegas know of them ? I vaguely remember when first installing Vegas 5 , shortly thereafter I installed "something" and wham, vegas had a wealth of fonts. I THOUGHT it was BORIS but as I mentioned, I am missing my little card. I have the box, the disks and cd cases, the booklets but no little card. Uggg..I am sure sony can look me up as a registered purchaser.....But the fonts be my quest...LOL.

Seriously, they really make a difference. If I knew the lib I could copy them.

Hi,
The fonts are located in - on XP - <boot drive>:/WINDOWS/Fonts. Vegas uses the installed system fonts, so if they're in that directory, Vegas should find them.

If my memory serves me right, the s/n from Boris was a universal one for all Vegas bundles. There was a thread on this a while back. I'm nowhere near my editing computer and won't be for several days or I'd try to find the s/n.

I'm betting if you call Boris they will give you one. I've found them very easy to deal with on issues like this.

i only got 1 SN when I bought V6+DVDA. Found that out MONTHS later when others were asking where the SN's were. I just e-mailed them told them I only had 1 & they e-mailed me one for the other app. Good customer service. :)
