Two things I couldn't work out

Downloaded the demo, tested for 10 minutes (great tutorials) and decided to buy, the capture plugin was already worth it.

Just edited 40 minutes of footage, printed to tape, no 4 Gig problems,no editing problems, good effects and transitions (picture in picture works simple).

There are two things I couldn't work out though, but maybe I am asking o much:

- I am converting the resulting avi files with TMPGEnc to MPEG2 for DVD and want to abstract the sound from the avi files in WAV format to link them when authoring DVDs.
- I can't find out how to superimpose a movie clip over an other where the underlying movie replaces a colour (like a newsreader)

Any insight appreciated,

Lody

I can answer part of that. The Superimpose by replacing a color is called Chroma Key. Video Factory does not support this effect. It will not do chroma keys. To get this function you would need to upgrad to Vegas Video, which is a substantially higher priced piece of software.

I can answer the other part ;)

You'll need to render your project again, but go to advanced render and select .WAV as the file type. This will render only the audio portion into a .WAV file. That should do what you need.

Thanks for the clear answers,

That just leaves me one thing I could do with Videowave 5 that I cannot do with VF. I can definately live with that (I still have VW installed for the odd things). I have edited some more today. It's a rock solid product.

I found another way in the meantime to extract the sound by defining soundrecorder as the default audiotool and copy the sound to it. Your solution is cleaner though and does it in one part for a large production.
