Two video layer editing

Hi,

I have two seperate layers of video in the editing window, however, I cannot get them to play at the same time. Vegas plays the top layer, and puts the bottom layer of video's opacity to zero. I want them both to play together, overlapping each other. I recorded myself on the left side of the screen, and then on the right side of the screen, saying hi to myself. I want it to look like there are two of me. Any ideas?

You need to attach a mask layer to the top track to remove the half that will allow the bottom track to show through.

Try using the Cookie Cutter FX to show only the portion of each track with you in it. Play around with this FX it's very useful for a lot of neat effects.
