@scarce-. What do you mean light typography? A Lighter weight Font? Fonts that are made from Lights? Lighter Colour Fonts? There's much to be done with the existing VP Text tools, but maybe not at the advanced level yoou want?

^Probably means light as in "I'd like to dabble a bit in learning how to do this." or "I don't need anything too fancy."
Text isn't one of MVP (Magix, now, not Sony)'s strong points, but you might want to check out Vegas Post when it drops in 2 days, it comes with a suite of effects that are meant for motion graphics, including really nice cinema quality text sequences, and certainly some good typography tools for simpler reveals/hides, etc.
