Ultimate S 2.0, Photo Montage question

I'm seeing a curious and annoying behavior in US2 - Photo Montage:

When specifying my montage settings, I select a media pool bin where I have placed my photos, sequentially named p0001.jpg - p0050.jgp. I turn OFF the random order switch.

Invariably, when the photos are placed on the timeline, the order they appear is:

p0037.jpg - p0050.jpg followed by p0001.jpg - p0036.jpg

(This happens regardless of the number of photos....even a bin containing 12 photos. I will get p9-12 followed by p1-p8)

Also, it is not the use of a media pool bin either. I can browse to a folder on disc and select the photos in their proper order (sorted by name, that is), and see the same result.

Any ideas what's going on? Is a setting in US2 awry somewhere?

You'd probably get a faster response on the US2 support forums -

I can’t reproduce this. I just pulled 123 images from a folder on the filesystem named Image001.jpg – Image123.jpg and US2 brought them in, in the proper order.

That also placed them in my media pool. So I made a new bin called “images” and selected all the images and dropped them in that bin. Then I deleted the track and ran US2 again and selected the media bin this time and again they all came in 1 – 123 in the proper order.

I can’t imagine why you are getting the results you are. If you’d like me to look at it and if it’s ok to send me the 36 pictures (because I have a feeling there has got to be something about the naming of the pictures), just zip up the veg file and images and send them to the ultimatesupport email that’s in the readme file and User’s Guide or you can contact me personally via this forum and I’ll take a look. If you don't think the photos matter then just send me the veg file.

I found a thread about this problem over in the forums David pointed me to.

The solution was to multi-select the image files in reverse order in the file browser.
(i.e. Highlight img0050.jpg, then shift-select img0001.jpg rather than the other way around.) US2 then places the images on the timeline in the proper order, 0001 thru 0050

[Johnny, I think it may have been you who posted the response.]
