Grazie,
You have to run the script (select okay) after selecting the pan/crop amount of movement (percentage), portion of the picture (quarter, third, half), and direction of movement (the group of check boxes in the shape of a diamond). The tool says XX events affected. Then exit the tool and click play in Vegas. You cannot interact with Vegas while in the tool. If you don't like the results, go back into the tool and change the parameters and click okay again. Be sure to check your photos to make sure pan/crop starts and stops in the right places. The script does not see the picture so it won't know if it's starting with the head cut off. This is especially critical when using match aspect ratio since the picture is being zoomed in on to fill the screen. Hope this helps.
Randy
I wish I could let you interact with Vegas but, as Randy pointed out, scripts cannot do this, only DirectX plug-ins can.
Let me explain the Quarter, Third, Half, movement. The purpose of limiting the sideways movement was so that you did not move off the edge of the picture and get black bars. As long as your pictures are the correct aspect or you use the Match Aspect tool to make them the correct aspect, Ultimate S should never move off the picture.
When set to Half, the pan will move sideways one half the distance of the aspect. This will move all the way to the edge of the picture. But what if you want the movement to be more subtle? Select Third as the movement and the pan will only move one third the distance to the edge of the picture. Likewise using Quarter will only move side-ways one quarter of the distance to the edge of the picture giving you less and less movement.
In this way you can control how much side-ways movement there is. I thought of calling is small, medium, and large. Perhaps that is easier for people to remember. Either way, one quarter is smaller than one third, which is smaller than one half, which is the largest movement.
Did I totally confuse you yet? ;-)
The idea of the tool is that you don’t have to interact with the pictures. You just tell Ultimate S how much to zoom or pan and in what directions and it takes care of the rest. You may have to adjust one or two if the subject is on the left and Ultimate S randomly decided to pan right but the majority of the pictures should not have to be adjusted.
