Ultimate S or Veggie Toolkit

I have Ultimate S 4 and I was trying to set up a batch render function that could take AVCHD files and batch render them to mxf. I wasn't able to figure out the RENDER section of Ultimate S. I read here about people using Veggie Toolkit to do this, so my question is, do I need Veggie Toolkit or can Ultimate S do this as well? Thanks.

You can try this free script:

http://sony.vegas.1.free.fr
The script is: Proxy Stream[1.0c]

There seem to be a bug if you try to use proxies in V9, but at least it will let you batch convert your AVCHD to .mxf

So far it worked great and is easy to use.

Funny you should ask. The inevitable finally happened, a client dropped off a HDD with hours of AVCHD from a multicam concert shoot. Veggie Toolkit has been hard at work rendering all of it to 4:2:2 MXF using V9. Works a treat. I use the MultiRenderer for vision and to render audio to ,pca for archiving.

The render queue in this tool is easy to use once you get your head around it. You can batch projects, media files and regions into the queue.

all you need to do in ultimate S is drop the files on the T/L and then use the markers tool, to create regions around each clip, and then tell the render tab render each region.

that's what I'd do if I didn't have gear shift.

> I have Ultimate S 4 and I was trying to set up a batch render function that could take AVCHD files and batch render them to mxf. I wasn't able to figure out the RENDER section of Ultimate S.

On the Render tab:

(1) In the Source and Target Files section, use the Add button to add the AVCHD files that you want to render. Also select an Output Folder.

(2) In the Render Formats section, press the Edit List... button and use Remove All to clear the list and then select Sony MXF as the file type and pick the template that you want to use and press the Add button to add it to the list. Add as many formats as you want. Then press OK.

(3) Back out at the Render tab again, give the preset a name (like "Sony MXF") and press the diskette icon to save (this is important).

(4) Finally, press the big Apply button at the top to start rendering all of the files to Sony MXF.

Awesome, it sure looked like it could be done in Ultimate S, just needed some help I guess. Thanks.
