Ultimate S working in Vegas 9 32 & 64

Hey everyone,

I know I've seen it posted in here asking if Ultimate S Pro is going to be working in 9 but it was taking a while to find the thread to reply to. I just wanted to let you all know that VASST now has the new 4.1 version of Ultimate S Pro up which works with Vegas Pro 8, 8.1, and 9 (32 and 64 bit version).

It's a free update to anyone who has the current Ultimate S Pro 4.x

Dave,
I can only see the trial download. Will that work so long as you have a licenced version installed?
TIA,
Tom

Answered my own question. Installing trial over licenced version works fine. However, V9 shows the 4.1 version, but V8 still shows 4.0.6. I installed into default directories.

Ciao,

Same problem here!
I installed the new version and starting up Vegas (8 and 9), US ask me for code to unlock.
My code for 4.0.6 works fine, but in Vegas (both 8 & 9) I still see v4.0.6.

Ciao

Tom, were you using Vegas before you installed the Ultimate S Pro update? I've seen this happen before and it has to do with Vegas not always cleanly existing. So you exit Vegas and it seems to go away but it's still in memory (check your task manager and sometimes it's still there :( ). Then you install an update to Ultimate S Pro but Vegas still has the old version locked so it never gets updated. I'm going to have to put checks in the installer for this.

Check your task manager to make sure Vegas is not still in memory, then re-install 4.1.0. if that doesn't work then it may be something else. Feel tree to email me off-line to figure this out then we can post the answer back here.

What I see is different, at least after futzing with things for a while. I was seeing 4.06 in V8 (V8.0c) and Nothing (under Extensions) in V9. I noticed that the 4.1 installer didn't ask me to uninstall 4.06, so I manually uninstalled 4.0.6, then re-installed 4.1 (after a reboot). Now I see 4.1.xxx in V8.0c, but still nothing in V9 (32-bit). Johnny, have any ideas?

Are you looking under View- Extensions?

Ok - I'm a doofus! : ) I was looking in the wrong place - obviously I should have been looking in the "View" menu, not the "Tools" menu!

Not that I have lost all credibility, should the VASST Notepad appear as a possible extension, or do we need to wait for that to be updated for V9 - and if so, I hope you will!

Regards,
Paul

Don't feel bad. I have done this tons of times while testing. I'll look under Edit Extensions (which is right next to View) and I'll be like... where did everything go???

> should the VASST Notepad appear as a possible extension,

Not yet but it's coming. I have a few more paid plug-in to convert over and then I'll do the freeware.

JR,
I had run into the same problem described above... I even removed all of the US Pro versions via Windows Control Panel, rebooted, re-installed Version 4.1.0. I opened V9, there was US Pro 4.1.0 sitting pretty, with the Reg Code automatically imported. Then I tried opening Vegas 8, and it asked for the code, which I typed in. V8 opened, but V4.0.1 was installed. I'm guessing that Vegas 8 must need 4.0.1 to work rather than 4.1.0?

Now that I have both Vegas 8 and 9 with US Pro working fine, I'm guessing that there isn't a problem on my end... just figured I'd mention it in case it help you ID any problems.
