Ultra, major crashing going on with VV3.0c

I've been having some major problems with VV3.0c and have been having it on 3 separate systems:
Dual 866 MHz PIII with Win2K (Intel system - server with SCSI RAID)
Dual 550 MHz PIII with Win2K (Intel system - workstation with SCSI/IDE, no RAID)
Dell Dual 1.7 GHz P4 with Win2K (IDE drives)
(all have either inVidia or ATI video cards, all up to date drivers.)

All have CardDeluxes with the most up to date drivers.

All will hang after recording or after stopping playback with an armed track.
All will occasionally reboot(!!!?!) the computer whether playback is occurring or not. (For example I can select a menu item and the system will reboot.)
No ONE set of things will set it off, but it's happening every 15 minutes or so with playing around with a project.

ANY THOUGHTS SF? Any known issues with the CardDeluxe? I'm at my wits end.
Note: Vegas Audio 2.0h doesn't do any of these things.

Sorry to hear about you difficulties.

Are you using the latest WDM version of the CardDeluxe driver?

ftp://digitalaudio.com/pub/carddlx/ (1037 version is the newest)

Also you might need to update the firmware on the carddeluxes
the utility to do this is called updcdlx.exe and it can be found at the same FTP location as above.

If you are still having problems, try moving the card to other PCI slots this will reshuffle your IRQ assigments. Some cards have issues if they dont get their own IRQ and the IRQ's are usually assigned by the BIOS to the specific PCI slots.

ACPI might be an issue too..

Hope this helps

Interesting. We've got 3 installations of Vegas going in our company as well and are also experiencing instability with our Vegas 3.0c installations.

I've been a user of Vegas since 1.0, and I've never experienced such an unstable build as the current one. On my P4/845/1gigDDR/XP machine, it crashes a few times a day but I keep doing the Control-S dance now, so I recover quickly.

Our other 2 Vegas 3.0c installs are on AMD/VIA Machines. Vegas keeps crashing on them at least 4-8 times or more a day.

Previous builds of Vegas did not crash the machines like this (up to 3.0b). None of the hardware has changed and other programs are just as reliable as ever so it really seems to be a Vegas issue.

I've been corresponding with someone in SF customer service who keeps insisting I should refer this issue to Tech support, but with 2 weeks left to our project going gold, we just don't have the time to troubleshoot. If I could demonstrate a repeatable bug, then I would try, but with no clear way to cause the crash, tech support would be a tedious process. Maybe when we're over the rush.
