Ok this is sorta a tough question for me to ask, but if you have seen any of Rippons halo 2 montages does anyone know how he makes the movie widescreen so that the bottom of the screen and the top of the screen have been cut out?

A simple mask will do that, piece of cake in Vegas.

ok , if thats too hard ,how about clicking pan and crop and select widescreen, every bit as simple as he thought.

1) Click the Pan/Crop button
2) Change the Preset to Wide Screen

speaking of which, i forgot what spot i saw, but cool effect where the actor's head broke out of the widescreen frame, as if he were 4:3 in a 16:9 world... cool effect nonetheless.
