Hi Guys

I have just built a new computer and was wondering if anyone knows:

I originally purchased Vegas 8 and then upgraded to Vegas 10 Pro i now need to install Vegas 10 pro on my new machine is it as simple as following the download link that i was given when i upgraded and install it on the new machine using the same Serial Number given to me. Do i have to uninstall from the old machine to use the same Serial number?

Help will be much appreciated.

Cheers

Chris

Versions 8 and 10 have different serial numbers. You will have to pay for the upgrade and get a new serial number if you haven't already. You can have both 8 and 10 installed and fully working since they install to different folders. If you no longer want 8 then uninstall it first to avoid any possible hiccups.

Edit

If you mean can you have version 8 on your old machine and your upgrade to 10 on another machine then most definitely YES.

You may install and register Vegas on more than 1 machine - just not use it on more than 1 machine at any time.

Even if your version 10 is an "upgrade" the download and installation can be done with just version 10 alone - i mean: 10 upgrade does not need an earlier version on that machine.

edit: sorry Peter - a classical example of cross posting :- ) ... but I'm sitting on Koh Samui (Thailand) with a glass of Campari-on-ice, some cashew nuts and my laptop.

Chris, get the latest version of Pro 10 at http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/updates/vegasfamily and install it.
Use the serial number you got when you upgraded to Pro 10.
Be sure to install whatever version of DVD Architect you have too.
I have versions 7 through 10 installed on my machine and have not had any problems at all.
