Is it a Digital8 camcorder? If so you should be using a firewire cable between the camcorder and the computer. Do not even think of trying a USB cable; it just doesn't work.
If, on the other hand you are recording analog on Hi8 and the camcorder doesn't have a DV interface then you'll need some sort of analog->digital converter.
Yes my camaorder is digital 8 sony 320 and I used Hi8 tape. I used the fire wall between the computer and the cam corder. I went into the Vegas movie studio 6 and from file to "get photo" and could not import. But with windows I am able to import the images. Am I doing something wrong?
"photo"? "images"? Those sound like stills, not video. Are you trying to import pictures you took with the camera or videos? If it's videos then you should click on Capture Video, not import.
Make sure your cam is in playback/vcr mode, connect the firewire cable, turn on the cam. You should hear a sound when the PC recognizes the cam as being connected. If VidCap doesn't default to the cam but is still seeing your webcam, go to the Video menu and choose your cam. You should then be able to capture from it.
Thank you MSmart for your guidance. I could not do what you suggested all this time and I managed to do it today and it worked. You may have realised I am new beginner on this software, but had this for some time. I hope and pray that now onwards I can refer to the hand book and get on. Once again thank you for your help.
