Unable to import multi-channel audio from MXF

VP22 Build 93. In previous versions, going back years, I have been able to import MXF audio as separate channels as long as the option in Preferences was ticked. That option no longer exists and now the audio is being imported as one channel. If I use the import stereo as mono it does create two channels however that is not what I want. I have a MXF with 4 channels which I need to keep separate as they came from different sources.

Has something changed in this area and how to revert to the old method? There does not appear to be any hidden or legacy menu options and the change log does not mention this.

Thanks - John

Anybody have any thoughts on this? Happens on several cameras all using MXF format including new footage shot tonight.

If I try the stereo as 2 x mono channels I can see both channels and 1st one plays OK. 2nd one has no volume but patently there is something there as the volume meter is moving and there are peaks.

Thanks

Oh wow...I was going to V22....Yeah I have reproduced your problem in VP22!!

I'm staying with V21 for now as I deal with a lot of mxf files with 4 audio inputs.

You can right mouse click on the audio and select your channel from 1 to 4..(you can copy the track 4 times and then select the channel number...not efficient!)

Found it. They have moved the option to File I/O without apparently telling anyone. Why they don't retain the settings from version to version every time I do not know. I know a legacy from Sony days but thought would not be that difficult to save having to keep settings things back up such as this.

Yes, it's on file io.

I also wish VEGAS would provide the option transfer over any relevant settings (I get if a setting is removed it won't be respected) as redoing all customization every year is tiring.
