Yes, this is the only way I can get Movie Studio 14 to start for me. I have a LOT of VST plugins and have to rename all my "VstPlugins" folders to something like "xxxPlugins", then it will open. But It still stalls for about 3 - 4 MINUTES during "Creating Windows", I've yet to figure out why it takes so long. On my old Sony Vegas 13 software, it only takes a few seconds for the splash screen to load.
I even deleted all the VST plugins list and the directory from Movie Studios preferences. Yet it still loads up (and crashes) those plugins unless I rename the directories. As someone who uses my computer for both video editing and as a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) it's a big hassle to rename all my VST plugin folders every time I switch back and forth.
Obviously there is a problem loading one or two (or more) VST plugins into Movie Studio. I wish there was a fix or better workaround than changing the name of the folders each time. And I have the full, paid version of Movie Studio Platinum 14 (with the latest update).
