I have used my V-3 for a couple of years now and was working on a "slideshow" which I regularly do. I worked all night long on this slide show, saving periodically - and, once the project was complete - was ready to render. I decided to give the computer a fresh start on resources and shut down everything. Rebooted the computer and launched Vegas. Clicked the project to open and it began loading the project - to 54% and stopped. It gave the error "cannot load project - no details". You can imagine my surprise. Never had this happened before - ever. I tried opening the project several times and got the same error. I even tried opening the .bak file - same thing. This was very, very disheartening. I had worked on the project for about ten hours and now it was - gone! This has never happened before and not since. Does anyone know what could have caused it so that I can prevent THAT from ever happening again?
It wasn't all that bad though. Since I had worked on the project all night, I knew exactly what to do to reconstruct it. Took about two hours to reconstruct. You can be I DID NOT reboot before rendering. But I have never had any program do that before. You think you're doing well by 'saving' periodicallly and this happens. I never dreamed of not being able to open the project again.
