Unable to Load VV 3.0c

Downloaded the Demo version of VV and for some reason after I install it on my PC and I try to run it it freezes my system up. I unistalled it, deleted it and downloaded it again and re installed it and the same thing happens. I am running Windows XP on an Athalon 1700 with Radeon 8500 and an Audigy sound card. I have downloaded all the latest drivers and windows upgrades. Not sure why this is happening since I ran VV 3.0c before on the same system with no problems. I just recently upgrade my hardrives to 2 80 GB western Digitals.

Any Help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Warren,

You might try reducing or switching-off hardware accelleration in your display, sometimes that sometimes helps.

I think there are a bunch of message threads regarding problems with the new Radeon drivers. Try to find one of those threads.

make sure you are not using ATI/Radeon Catalyist 2.2 drivers- revert to 2.1.

Also: ATI claims their latest drivers (2.3), released last week, now work with Vegas but we haven't finished testing them.

SonicEPM, could you please post when you're done testing. I'm looking at the ATI AIW 7500 at the moment, but I'm hesitant because of the conflicts associated with 2.2.
Knowing it was compatible with SoFo products would really help my decision making.

The card itself is not the problem, just the 2.2 drivers. 2.1 and 2.3 drivers seem to work fine, and are easily downloadable if the card ships with 2.2.

I downloaded the 2.3 drivers and wasn't able to get the problem solved. I looked back on some older posts and found a solution to the problem. This solution also works with the 2.3 drivers.

i have the same problem here, Vegas Video 3.0c Build 138 with ATI Radeon 64 DDR VIVO and ATI's Catalyst 02.2 driver set (WinXP 6.13.10.6118 EFG) on Windows XP Professional

the 2 solutions i've found (from rage3d.com forums ):

1. right click on your desktop and choose properties > settings > Advanced > Troubleshoot and lower the hardware acceleration one step

2. use the ati2dvag.dll file from earlier drivers.

To do this, obtain a copy of the ati2dvag.dll (links below), boot into Safe Mode and copy it into your C:\windows\system32. Just press yes when it asks to overwrite then reboot into Normal Mode.

i'm now using 6094 dll until ATI releases an update to these BAD drivers ...
