Unable To Load Wav File On Time Line In Vegas 5

I have just upgraded to Vegas 5 and am able to pull MP3 files into my Vegas project, but am unable to pull in Wav files. It tells me the file is not supported. I have never had this problem in my older version of Vegas. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Where did these wav files come from? Do they load in your older version of Vegas (or any other Sony app)?

The wav files have opened in the older version of Vegas and still do. They come from CD's and converted MP3 files.
