Unable to open Vegas 5.0 projects using Vegas 8.0

I recently bought and installed Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8.0 after using Vegas 5.0 for a long time. I tried to open a Vegas 5.0 project using Vegas 8.0 but it said it couldn't be opened. I can still open it using Vegas 5.0 though.

Is there a way to make it so I can open the 5.0 project using my new 8.0 software?

If i recall correctly, there was no Vegas Studio 5, so you must have had the full version of Vegas 5. The full version saves .veg files and the Studio version saves .vf files. The full version can open both .veg and .vf, but the Studio version can only open .vf.

So, unless you upgrade to Vegas Pro 8, you're kinda stuck. Sorry. :(
