Unable to Render 59.940 fps MP4 video files

Program: Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12

I have some MP4 video files (1920 x 1080) from my Sony Action Cam HDR-AS100V that I've been trying to render at 59.940 fps NTSC to no avail. When I try to render, I get an error message. The project properties, event properties and render settings are all set to 59.940 fps, so I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

Now, if I change frame rate to 29.970 fps, there's no problem rendering. But this is not what I want to do.

Are there any other settings I need to change?

[b]" I don't understand what I'm doing wrong."

Neither do we, until you've posted your complete file properties, project properties, and render properties.

Your MEDIA properties?
Download MediaInfo and post the complete properties please.

What is your intended use for the video?

Are you making a BluRay?

Why are you using MPEG-2?

You can't change a BluRay template.
All that does is to create an incompatible format.
So it gives an error. Simple.

60i means 29.97 frames, 59.94 fields. Don't change it.
You won't be making a 1080p 60 BluRay, is that what you thought?

Unfortunately, at the moment I'm not home; maybe later today I'll provide the MEDIA properties.

I'm intending to create a BluRay.

It is my understanding that I should use MPEG 2 for creating blu ray discs. I've used this in the past to create other video formats (AVCHD) into blurays, most of which have been at 29 fps (1920x1080).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought video in 29 fps and 59 fps I could use the template 1080-60i? I've learned this from a tutorial online, unless I misunderstood.
What template do you suggest for MP4 video in 59.940 fps (1920x1080)?

Sorry for my lack of knowledge; I've only been doing home movie editing for about a year (and still learning).

You are confused. So again:
60i is 29.97 FRAMES per second. That's 59.94 FIELDS.
1080 59.94 frames per second is not part of the BluRay specification!
That's why you can't do it.
Wikipedia is your friend. So are these forums.

Use the Project and Sony AVC BluRay templates appropriate to your source. That's why you need to know the media properties. You also need to know whether to turn resampling on or off. I suspect you will use 1080 60i BluRay. There is no need to transcode to MPEG-2.

Really, the Bluray templates in Vegas are already correct. They are meant to be used without alteration, so that your video meets the BluRay specification. Search the forums, and best not to try to reinvent the wheel.

16Mbps AVC is the equivalent of 25Mbps MPEG-2. However, you can go up to 20Mbps.

Best of luck
