ADS pyro 1394 card
+ full version of premiere 6.5
+ Ulead DVD workshop
+ Boris Factory

All for 224 dolars...damn that is cheap especially when it comes bundle with ulead dvd workshop. Is adobe slashing the price of Premiere to compete with other brand names?!?
I am a VV3 user. I am trying to find the best deal for friend on the internet for VV3. Checked Ebay but to my dismay only the educational version is for sale. Where coudl I find a killer deal for VV3 similar as above ? help me out here guys...I hate to see this friend turn to pirated warez or worse buy a bundled version of Premiere 6.5 : (

I would imagine that once version 4 is officially released, then vv3 will drop in price....I would think.

Vegas is a steal priced as is. We all like a deal but in the end, you're still stuck with Adobe Premiere as an NLE. Me? I'll gladly wait for Vegas 4. I want an NLE I can live with for the long term, not a good deal for the moment.
Adobe has been losing a lot of ground on the PC NLE side of things (stability, interface, intuitiveness, total editing experience). Kinda makes you wonder why. A low price doesn't make up for things like that...
When you sell out to the lowest bidder, you have no reason to complain in the future if you're aren't happy.

Avoid Adobe unless you are using a boardset that requires it and even then you'll probably find 5.1c crashes less often than 6.x or 6.5x. Granted, my main use of VV3 is audio editing but during video editing it has never locked up Windows 2000, whereas Adobe does all the time.

Here's another question: Do you know anyone who has ever paid "list price" for Premiere? I've got it bundled with three different Pinnacle cards...

A third question: Ever tried editing your audio with Premiere? That is exactly why we bought into Sound FOrge so long ago: export the entire track as one wave file then fix it in SF. The audio editor that comes with each AVID Media Composer is almost as weak, feature wise.

I just checked the adstech site on this OFFER, and you might want to be careful about it if you buy it. According to the manufacturer's site, this is a package including Premier 6.0, with free upgrade to 6.5. However, YOU pay for the additional shipping for the upgrade $20.00. Further, the offer for the free upgrade expired 10/20/2002.

I'd check carefully before buying to make sure the offer is still valid. That is, if you REALLY want Premier in the first place.

I got my Vegas 3.0 on Ebay for $175. It was the FULL version, and I was able to upgrade it to 3.0c with no problem.

The seller's still selling them for around $180.

For all you lucky EDUCATIONAL types, try:

www.academicsuperstore.com

and other academic sites. I have seen it recently for a low as $147, and if you hit it right (not hard) shipping is free.
