I want uncompressed video, not DV video, any way to do this? I created some graphics effects with vegas, rendered to uncompressed AVI then DV-AVI; what a difference... is this why the hollywood dvd titles look so awesome, because the *source* is uncompressed video? ;)
Ummmmmmm, you get uncompressed video by rendering to uncompressed. Isn't this what you did already?
Render to .avi and select uncompressed as the template. Of course, if your source was already DV, then rendering to uncompressed won't improve it any; it just won't compress it again.
Even pricy digital Betacam does some light DCT compression, and is "only" 4:2:2. To simulate shooting 4:4:4 uncompressed, you might as well shoot 35mm film and then scan it. Go for a 4K scanner, you know, for best quality. Who's your benifactor?
I suppose you could shoot 4:2:2 HD 1080i and then down-convert it to 4:4:4 SD, that would be pretty close to shooting 4:4:4 SD uncompressed.
Nearly anything that you've seen on commercial DVD releases was shot on film. Much of what you see on TV is shot on film, although that's starting to be more and more video over time.
