Undo Multicamera track?

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone knows how to make a multicamera track revert back to multiple tracks? 15 minutes into my edit I find that I need to resync the tracks. I can get out of multicamera edit mode but it does not give me back the individual tracks.
I'm using 9.0c 64 bit
Thanks in advance for your help

Sorry, that's not going to happen once you have committed your changes.

The trick is to copy all of your media events to new tracks before you create the multicamera track. That way, the copies are all there if you need them or need to revert. We've all been stung by this once, so don't feel alone.

The trick is to save the project as a veg with a different name before creating the multitrack. I name them xxxPREMC.veg and had a couple of occasions when the MC veg got out of hand and I could go back to the synched timelines before MC.

Hi,

I just don't get it - why does the activation of the Multicamera-function have to be so destructive? It will happen more than often that you (during the multicam editing) notice some clips or parts of media that are slightly out of sync. Or you notice that it would be wise to cut a clip in two halves and slightly slide them on the timeline, as a countermeasure to drift.

I find the way the multicam editing is implemented - to be very much limiting - in this respect. I would vote for a multicam edit that is just a toggle, so that you could go back and forth between separate tracks - and multicam. There must be a reason why the multicam function is implemented as it is? Anyone dare to take a wild (or educated) guess?

The reason I still perform most of multicam edits the "old manual" way is that I want to have full control of all parameters. How the multicam is now implemented puts a heavy restriction on functionality. Would be easier to accept and understand, if someone could explain why it was done the way its done. Was it only a quick and "dirty" add-on without some thorough planning, because of pressure from users and management timetables?

I better be careful with my criticism here, since I have not used a multicam feature in other editing applications like FCP, PPro or Edius. How is the mutlicam editing done on the other sides of the fences?

Cheers,

Christian

Although I found the native multitrack relatively easy to adapt to, others have found Excalibur or Ultimate S more to their liking.
