Uninstall Movie Studio Platinum 12 missing

Bought upgrade to Movie Studio Platinum 13. Wanted to uninstall version 12 (both 32 and 64 bit versions), but there is no uninstall option in the menu or under programs in the control panel. Reinstalling 12 over my previous installation is also not working, because the installer says I already have 12 installed (which is correct).

Q: How do I remove MSP12 64 & 32bit without any uninstallers (on Win7 64 bit)?

You can always just delete the folder from your Program Files directory and then use a registry cleaner like CCleaner to pick up the scraps.

It's not a perfect solution, but it gets the job done.

Hi,

You are looking in Control Panel / Programs and Features / Movie Studio Platinum, not Sony Movie Studio Platinum or Vegas Movie Studio Platinum, aren't you?

There can be so many programs listed under Programs and Features that it is easy to miss what you're looking for.

You might download something like Revo Uninstaller, which is free which would probably find the 32 bit install, but you would have to use the "Pro" paid version to find the 64 bit version. Revo will find and uninstall most installed programs even if Windows doesn't list them for some reason.

@Steve Grisetti: Thank you for this solution. Made a support ticket as well. If that takes too long I will give your way of solving this a try.
@Jillian: Yeah, I have been looking for all possible programs with the words Movie and/or Studio in the list, but could not find any.

Ugh, Sony Support being a bit daft again. Answered my ticket that I am missing the uninstall in the control panel and how I should remove their software without it. Got as an answer to go to the control panel and use uninstall ... really Sony, I mean really? Argh.
