Hi all,
Well, you'd think that stepping up to a new version would be a good thing, but since upgrading to Vegas 6b, I have lost soooo much time in productivity, due to the fact that I am having to un-install and then clean install every time before doing a render. If i create a project and then go ahead and render, it will continually crash after a few percent into the render. I am not suggesting that this is the fault of V6, but would like to get to the root of the problem.
I still have Vegas 5 on my machine and I never had any problems such as this with that version, so I am perplexed as to why it is happening now. It is driving me nuts and I am at the point of seriously considering a re-format of my entire system.
Anyone experienced this problem with V6?
I am running a Pentium 4, 3.2 gHz machine
80 Gig Primary HDD
2 x 80 Gig Slaves configured in a Striped Array (RAID)
200 Gig External Firewire Drive.
2 Gig DDR Ram
One thing to note is how I have been creating projects lately in a slightly different process.
Vegas runs from the Primary HDD
My video captures and media are all on the External FireWire HDD.
I am rendering to the Slave RAID HDD.
Does this seem like a feasable method? I previously used to store all media and captures on the RAID HDD and also render to that drive. I presumed my new method would be more efficient and less taxing on the system.
Anyway, any thoughts on this will be very gratefully received.
Cheers,
TeeJay
