unlinking tracks

Hi!
Would anyone happen to know how to un-link tracks? For instance, if I wanted to perform a Ripple Delete on a video track, while leaving the corresponding audio track as is, which options do I need to choose? It's probably something very simple, but Vegas Help contains nothing on the subject, and I can't figure it out on my own.
Thanks!

Press "U" while the video or audio track is selected. U for UN group.

Hmmm... tried it, but it does not work. In fact, when I right-click on the track and go to Group menu, the grouping optionis are not even available for me to pick (i.e., they aren't highlighted). Maybe I am in a wrong editing mode of some kind? Any ideas?

Don't know what to tell you, unless it's a type 1 avi gone awry.
Just select the audio or video you wish to ungroup from the video/audio, select "u" for ungroup, or use one of the menu/right click options to Ungroup. use CTRL U to clear your groups.
Ungroup, then use the Track Ripple, not the All Events ripple, to move only the video track but leave audio intact.

Don't know if this is it or not -

There's an arrow button next to the ripple delete icon which lets you select whether you want to ripple just the affected track, affected tracks, markers, etc. or all tracks, markers etc.

Or if you're doing ripple with the keyboard, press F instead of CTRL-SHIFT-F.

Grouping is not a track-level property but an event-level one. Select the events that you wish to ungroup and go from there.
