UnrespondingTemp files folder change

Changing from drive C: to a folder in drive D: thru the preferences menu in VEgas 6.0 has no effect. The pre render files are stuill saved on Drive C: which is not intended for nothing else than system files. The new path remains applied on the menu but no action.
Why is this happening?

Pre-render directory is different to Temp directory. Meaning you can "assign" a temp directory, but you can also assign a Pre-render director.

Pre-render is under: File > Properties > Prerendered file folder

Tempporary files folder settings are under: Options > General (tab) . .located at the bottom . .
