Unwanted TEXT...

FuTz wrote on 1/17/2004, 10:51 AM

Maybe a naive question but here it goes: is there a way to get rid *forever* of the "Sample Text" text that eppears in the text box so when I generate a text, I just have to type instead of earasing this one and typing mine after? I think it's really *annoying*.
While at it, is there a way to "lock" preferences concerning color, etc... so when I generate text, I just have to type and close the window ?
I know I can make a custom preset but the "sample Text" will appear however...
thanks!

Create a preset with different (or no) text. It will retain all of your settings AND the text you specified. Then just drag that preset to the timeline instead.

I'll sure try that, thanks!

Interesting.... I've been using V4 for a year and a half and did not know you could make your own presets!! How exactly does one do this???

In any effect or media generator dialog, set your settings as you wish, go to the drop-down box near the top of the dialog (it will most likely say "untitled" if you have changed settings).

Type in a name in that box, then hit the disk icon button immediately to the right of the box. If you hit the drop-down, you should see your newly named preset.

A huge timesaver, especially if you're using color curves to match clips from 2 or more cameras.

You can't get rid of 'Sample Text' but all you need to do is hit Ctrl/A to select it all, then just start typing.
