I got win2k installed and I dont see the problem...seems fine
seems to see all my ins and outs
weird
it IS showing that it found a PCI device that I have no idea what, as I have put drivers for each card plugged in
Do you have the P4T-e model with built in sound...or not.
If with it...disable the onboard sound (ac97) Game interface, modem controller. Disable all of this (found in "I/O Device config" in BIOS)
Disable com ports, and LPT if you don't have a printer.
Just try it.
Make sure you have latest bios (1006 I believe).
You can test the ram with a program called DOCMEM. It's free and it's out there on the net...try:
A soundblaster clone and/or a soundscape mixtreme in this system work FINE with vegas. Notice I said " and/or " meaning the Notorius SS/SB combo didnt cause any trouble at all>>>
Here is where I think the problem may be. The RME MME drivers. Have you spoken with RME and CONFIRMED they are not at fault? What was their reply?
What was SFs reply?
Try older RME drivers yet?
Pipe, look at the memory specifications in your manual. They are VERY specific here.
How many sticks of RDRAM are you using?
If using 1 or 2 sticks RDRAM, are you following the exact rules they state (use of C-RIMMs in RIMMB2 and RimmA2 with the ram sticks put in RimmB1 and RimmA1)?
Look at the interrupt request chart in your mobo manual.
Using INT-A?
Describe what slots all expansion cards are in.
Did you forget any important Intel mobo drivers to download and install imeediately after the OS installation? (INF utility for i850 chipset)
Use WinXP. Especially with 2 RMEs and vegas.
You are using Vegas 3 correct? and not vegas 2.0h?
Lastly, describe your vegas config and bios settings (mainly sections - advanced, chip config.
If you don't try all this (especially check your memory situation), then you won't know if it's the RME driver for sure.
It is the one without the built in sound. I have disabled all ports including usb. with or without them same problem.
I have tried bios 1004 1005 1006 and now 1007
of course RME says its not their problem, the cards work fine in all other apps I can think of in MME mode
RME hasnt given me a good reply except that in a system not resembling mine ( though mine is built to their specs), using a diffeent soundcard, with a P3, vegas is ok.
"Pipe, look at the memory specifications in your manual. They are VERY specific here.

2 sticks
"If using 1 or 2 sticks RDRAM, are you following the exact rules they state (use of C-RIMMs in RIMMB2 and RimmA2 with the ram sticks put in RimmB1 and RimmA1)?"
I am [pretty sure I got it right, but I better go check again
"Look at the interrupt request chart in your mobo manual.

tried ALL different combos, according to gary brenner and some others at the nuendo hardware forums. They had disagreeing views, so I tried all their different advice.
Does Int-A have 2 slots?
I am gonna pull one card out as it still makes trouble with only one card...which slot should I put it in ?
"Did you forget any important Intel mobo drivers to download and install imeediately after the OS installation? (INF utility for i850 chipset)
"
I got the intel inf installer and also the app accelerator are there more I should install?
yeah its vegas 3....everything up to date, but even the older stuff didnt work either
"Lastly, describe your vegas config and bios settings (mainly sections - advanced, chip config."
any and everyway to config it as far as I can tell, same trouble. Have you seen a specific way I should set the bios ?
I am using two cards, tho even one will screw up. I will from now on test with only one card
