Updated MPEG encoder available

The new version of DVD Architect 3 (version 3.0a) that was recently posted in the downloads section of our website contains an updated MPEG encoder with some fixes that may benefit you. If you have had trouble in any of our apps rendering CBR MPEG-2 or have otherwise had trouble encoding to MPEG-2, especially for DVD delivery, you are advised to install DVD Architect 3.0a. (all of our apps will "see" the updated MPEG components installed by DVD Architect 3.0a, full or demo version).

I just sent my DVD, encoded with the prior version, out for mass duplication. Are you saying I am going to have problems, and if so, what are they likely to be??

... and does this mean this also affects/affected the Vegas MPEG encoder?

If I understand ForumAdmin correctly, the update addresses the problem of encloder crashing when rendering MPEG2, DVD template, CBR.
What I am not sure of is whether the fix will address this problem when rendering from Vegas. I have posted here about this problem which started with V5.0d and V6.0a.

I have purchased the V6/DVDA3 upgrade. I have not installed it because of this problem.

(all of our apps will "see" the updated MPEG components installed by DVD Architect 3.0a, full or demo version).
Would I be correct in assuming that if I install V6.0b and then DVDA3.0a, the shared MPEG directory will have the updated files?

Please say YES.

99% certain it will.

I think that too but I think I shall continue using 5.0b with DVD workshop whilst the rush is on for next few weeks.
I shall install 6.0a and dvda3.0b on a spare pc and try it out.

Note to me:
I must learn how to use DVDA. And Soon.

Thanks for the encouragement Grazie.
I am sure DVDA is but DVD workshop is easier because I have been using it for 3 years.

Hey Mehash - since were having the same mpeg 2 CBR problem I'll try and render out a section that's been giving me problems and let you know how it goes. I'm using all the latest Sony stuff and the mpeg 2 problem so far is my only bug (well I had an HDV capture crash but so far editing HDV without any problems - even pushing around the raw m2t has been working like a champ - a slow champ but it works solid.

So, if I have Vegas 5 and DVDA 2, and I install the DVD 3.0a demo, will it update the MPEG encoder for Vegas 5 and DVDA 2?
Mahesh wrote on 6/9/2005, 2:19 PM
Thanks Yoyodyne.
That would be great. I am going to refrain from getting tempted to install V6/DVDA3 for few weeks. After about 20 install/uninstalls, losing MPEG2 CBR and would you believe, some audio plug-ins during the process, I shall sit tight for a while.

I think it may update it. During my tests I found that I could get V5.0d/V6 to render CBR if I used V5.0b files - as long as they all share the same 'shared folders'.

Then again, I may be completely wrong. Me and computers have a love-hate relationship, dating back to 1976.
