No. 5.2 comes only with Vegas 10 Pro. Free upgrades are designated with a suffix letter, not a number.

You can always keep tabs on the updates (free) and upgrades (not free) on your My Account/My Software page. Be sure to register all your software because this is how Sony knows whether to offer you a discount on any future upgrades.

Sony have muddied the waters with DVDA version numbering. Versions 4.5 and 5.0 are really the same product, accepting the same serial number, but Version 5.2 is a different product, requiring a different serial number. If you install 5.0 after 4.5 and then uninstall 4.5 later, it breaks 5.0.

I think that the confusion arises only if one considers version numbers without reference to whether one is referring to the Studio or Pro version.

I installed DVDA Studio 5 and removed DVDAS 4.5 without encountering any problems.

More mud!

Actually I think what happens, from memory (very defective) with the 5.0 Pro version is that the app gets installed in a folder marked 5.0 but the installer/uninstaller gets put in a folder marked 4.5
