Upgrade 8a to 8c - Serial Number Issue

I have Vegas 8.0a installed on my computer. I downloaded the lastest 8.0 version from Sony, Vegas 8.0c (not 8.1). Shouldn't the serial number from 'a' work to authorize 'c'?

Why doesn't it recognize? Or am I just mistyping? :-)

Also... can version 8.1 use my 8.0a serial number as well?

I just copy/paste my SN from the number listed under "My software"
Not sure if it works with 8.1 though, I only use 8.0.

The same serial number should work with 8.0a, 8.0c, and 8.1. With 8.0a installed, you can simply install 8.0c and it will update it without needing to enter the serial number again.

If you're having authorization issues, you probably should contact customer service.

Make sure that the 8.0c you downloaded was Vegas Pro, not Vegas Movie Studio. Those are different products and need different serial numbers.
