Upgrade Choices from Vegas Pro 18

I've been using Vegas Pro 18 for some time, and now that I have a Windows 11 system, I'm considering an upgrade. I'm confused by the various packages that Magix is offering. I use VP for both audio and video production projects, primarily for editing content. Do I purchase a higher number of Vegas, like 21 or 22? Do I upgrade to Vegas Edit? What product is the most simple and direct upgrade to the version 18 that I have now? Your thoughts are appreciated, --Carl

Vegas Pro 21 is no longer available from MAGIX but may possibly be found on Amazon or other similar sales websites (though beware private sellers using the Amazon platform).

There are two versions of Vegas Pro 22 available from MAGIX They are Vegas Pro which is the basic Vegas Pro program, or Vegas Pro Suite which is the same basic Vegas Pro program but with several additional but separate programs. If you don't need any of those additional programs, then go with the Vegas Pro version (i.e. not Suite). If you need the additional programs, then go with the Suite version.

Each version is available as either a perpetual licence which means that you have it forever and with updates until the next version is released; or as a subscription (365) where you pay monthly or yearly and get new releases while the subscription is active. The downside is that if you stop paying the subscription, access to Vegas Pro ceases.

Usage limits for Vegas Content and things like Speech to text are higher with the Suite version and even higher with 365. More detailed information is in the following comparison webpage for Vegas Pro 22:
