Hi Tor & thanks also Mandk

Where did you find out about the $199 offer? When I registered Vegas I seem to remember ticking a box to be informed by email about special offers but have never recieved any.

I've been considering upgrading mainly for DVDA2, but the masking capabilities of Vegas 5 look pretty good too.

Thanks
Martin

Pike,
I didnt get my usual "NEW VEGAS ARRIVING...SPECIAL OFFER" email either... but I just happened to call them yesterday. If you go the the KNOWLEDGEBASE under Vegas I beleive it's the second article.

I would love to see an even better deal for going from Vegas 5 to Vegas +DVD. I currently have version 4 which I got in January or Early Feb. If I upgrade to Version 5 before the Jun 4 deadline its $149.00. If I decide to upgrade to Version 5 plus DVDA2 its $249.00. The upgrade from V5 to V5with DVDA2 is 299.00. So I know they are trying to get me to upgrade now but it is not just a 50.00 dollar difference if I wait to upgrade and add in the DVDA2, its a $150.00 dollar difference. I suppose this is because the V5 + DVDA2 is a combined program or that basically DVDA2 is not a standalone. Its this "Suite mentatlity" ---oh well better hock the car to buy the latest upgrades. (its not that this is unusually high compared to others its just that its all too expensive.)

I'll stop wimpering now.

DVD2A is a standalone program. I use both V5 and DVD2 that I purchased "together", and each can run without the other.

One nice thing about the upgrade from V4 to V5+DVD2A, for $249 as you stated, is you will be able to render to AC3 audio.

I'm think I probably will, but I'm just about to become a dad though so money's tight, but I've had a fair bit of freelance work lately. The new features of DVDA are the most appealling.
