Upgrade pricing--$179 shown but $249 in cart?

I'm an 8(c) user and decide to pull the tirgger on 9(e) so I go to the "purchase" page and see the upgrade offer I pasted below.

Asterisk says "Promotional Price", so figure that is for loyal users like me who started with v5. Add it to the cart after insertinig my serial # and it says $249 that I don't qualify.

What, don't they love me? Who gets the $179 if not users like me?

See if it works with this offer from the recent newsletter.
You have to click the "Only through May 31. 20% off everything. Click here now." link on the page.

There are serial numbers and there are serial numbers. Where did you get the number you entered for the purchase?

The best place is the original CD/paperwork. The next place would be on the Sony website where all your software is registered. The worst place is from the program itself when you click on Help.

Go to the "My Software" section and make sure you're registered. There's a "Machine ID" somewhere too.

Thanks... was registered and the number there is the same as my software which I had used initially.

The 20% offer I had seen but is $20 higher then and now, just tried it.

Why is it $199 vs the $179 they show. Who can qualify for that? Isn't going from 8 to 9 the proper path? Any 9x updates are free if I had upgraded to 9 before.

A puzzle to me.

Call Customer Service and ask them what's going on.

I get the ~$240 price too. Where are you seeing $180? I don't see it on the "upgrades" page or in "my software".

Hackazoid, et al :

There is a special promotion that was offered to folks who registered for the recent Vegas Pro 9 Webinar (use keycode 64355-1026). This promotion allows users to upgrade to Vegas Pro 9 as a bundle, with a collection of other tools, for a very low price. The bundle includes:

- Upgrade to Vegas Pro 9 from Vegas
- Vegas Pro Production Assistant
- The Seminar Series: Vegas Pro
- Sony Certified Vegas User Exam
- Digital Video and Audio Production book

The price breakdown is as follows:

- Upgrade to Vegas Pro 9 from Vegas is $179.95.
- Sony Certified Vegas User Exam is $49.95.
- The Seminar Series: Vegas Pro is $49.95.
- Vegas Pro Production Assistant is $99.95.
- Digital Video and Audio Production is $20.15.

I'm guessing that your browser cached that keycode for you, but do not have all of the required items in your cart, hence the error. HTH

Thanks, that explains it. Did the $199 upgrade so hope I'm happy.

BTW, adding the word "bundle" to the $179 description could have saved this whole thread. Maybe use it next time.
