Upgrade pricing in € is a bargain!

I upgraded from VMS 8 Plat to VMS 10 HD Production Suite for a total of 37.45 €, all included (download).
IMO, that is a real bargain.

Sony sent my instantly a mail with the download links and serial numbers.

A pleasant surprise was the fact that also the 400 soundtracks and the tutorial videos are available for download, both about 1GB in size.

Are the 3000 Acid Loops from Acid Studio also available via download
Ivan Lietaert wrote on 6/8/2010, 11:33 PM
No acid loops, they are not. But the 1GB soundtracks are very useful, imo, and I know what I 'm talking about because in the past I used Acid quite often with free 8packs to make my own score.

How did you manage to get that upgrade option? I am a registered VMS9 Platinum Pro user, and in my account page the only VMS10 upgrade is to VMS10 platinum, but not production studio. When I rang Sony they said my upgrade options were to 10 platinum, and if I wanted production suite it would cost me €85 + VAT - approx €110...

Thanks

For me there were two ways, actually,
ONE
On this very websibe, make sure you are logged in with your official Vegas account, and click on 'purchase<upgrades'. There the listed upgrade price is $49 for the Vegas Production Suite.
TWO
I received an email with an option to upgrade (before the end of June) for a reduced upgrade price of €30.95. (Add taxes, €37.45).

BTW, the upgrade price of VMS10 Plat is €23.95

I upgraded from Vegas Movie Studio 8 Platinum Edition. Perhaps that was a crucial factor?

Strange. Under My account I read that my software (VMS 9 Plat, to be speciific so called Pro Pack 9) entitles me to upgrade to VMS 10 Plat for 53.62 euro (!), and no production suite option

Ninan, I get the same thing if I go into the My Account > Software page, only Platinum is offered.

If you go to the Purchase > Upgrades pages, as suggested, you'll see the upgrade for Production Suite. However, for me, the price listed is the standard upgrade price. Maybe after entering the qualified serial number, the price used in the cart will be the discounted rate. But it's possible that the only way to get the discounted upgrade price is to use the link in the email you should be or have received.

Then again the upgrade discount promotion could be a US thing only. Platinum is $30US off, Production Suite is $40US off through the end of June and only when using the link provided in the email.

Thanks, MSmart. I haven't received an e-mail. It may be the case that the discount promotion is for the US residents only?. And I wouldn't like it at all. We'll see.

I'm in the U.S. and haven't received an e-mail. In the "My Account/My Software" section of the website it shows I am eligible for an upgrade to HD Platinum 10 (but not the production suite.) The price however, is the full upgrade price shown on their upgrade page. ($64.95 U.S.)
Hard to tell what the criteria is for offering a lower-priced upgrade via e-mail. Maybe they haven't sent all the e-mails out yet.

Did you see Tim L's reply in your "Received email" thread? Check your email settings in My Account.

IIRC from previous upgrades, it can take several days for registered users to get their email.

Thanks, MSmart. I did see Tim L's reply in the other thread - but not until after I posted my message here.

Upon reading his suggestion, I checked my preferences and found that I am on the "no-email" list. So that explains why I haven't received one.
