Upgrade to Pro 9 to access more RAM?

Title pretty much says it..I have a post in Windows 7 and with 8.0 and the burning itch for more speed :), should I just bite the bullet and get 9?

I have 8GB RAM and can only access 2, currently using Win 7 64 and have read about the file changes to allow more than 2GB but I'm thinking a dedicated 64-bit software is a wiser choice...dunno though.

Is 3 GB the limit if I can change the directory to allow greater than 2?

Umm, maybe you should wait a month and Vegas Pro 10 will be out. In the mean time, download Vegas 8.1 64 bit for free. It sorta works on Win 7 x64:

I'll try it.

Another thing that I think may not be a version problem is I rendered about 20 min of SD footage, I imported from a Camcorder disc, and the audio track was right inline with the video.

When I played it in the viewer it was in sync but when I burned a DVD it was off just slightly. I did this before and imported media and it was way off...I have since changed my importing methods.

I burned as a MPEG-2, the audio was 48kHz, but when I watched it the audio was off about 1/4 sec....just enough to be noticeable.

Wanted to add, I rendered as MPEG-2 for a DVD-NTSC. In the box below it gave the description as 44,100 Hz for the audio, but in the details of the final render it shows 48kHz. Obviously I did something wrong just not sure what.
