Upgrade to Sony Vegas Pro

Hello,
I have been using Sony Vegas Movie Studio + DVD Platnum Edition for over a year now. It has worked just fine.

I saw the upgrade available to Sony Vegas Pro and decided to check it out. First I uninstalled Sony Vegas and Sony DVD from my computer, disabled Zone Alarm, turned off Norton security suite and stopped all programs from the task bar. When I installed the software, it went smooth. However, now most of the videos I add to the project manager the sound is stripped from the copy in Sony Vegas. Or the sound is not syncronized.

So I uninstalled the software, powered down and reinstalled the software, same results. Some of the video that does have sound is not synced with the video. Is there a setting or switch I need to turn on or off to get this to work? I don't want to upgrde uless I can see that it works.

Anyone else with similar issues? Would love to hear from you.

Blessings,

gdkwest

I left my VMS programs in place & installed the Vegas Pro 8 Trial first before upgrading.
Had no problems except trying to use some Dolby features in the Vegas trial has limitations.
I would re-installed VMS because you will always use it (unless it's VMS version 6, read there may be some problems).

I think that tech support would be able to give you an exact answer, but I had all 3 programs installed and didn't have any problems (except trying to use AC3-Pro in Vegas Trial).

4eyes,

Thanks for the feedback. I thnk I will reinstall my version of Sony Vegas so I have something to work with as I am producing a project now. Good idea.

I will wait and see if any others have ideas or maybe one of the mods can provide some insight. I will call tech support after a couple of days if there is no solution here. I just hate calling tech support because of the legthy hold time. Too time consuming.

Thanks again for the quick post.
