You can always try the downloadable trial version first, that's what I did.

Vegas Video (VV) has many, many more features like keyframeable effects, unlimited video and audio tracks, support for 24 bit 96KHz sound, multiple audio buses, the pro version of the MainConcept MPEG plug-in, ability to burn red book audio CD's, etc, etc.

You don't lose any functionality from VF2.

I have flirted with the idea of buying VV but I doubt I would every use all of its advanced features since I do video just for fun (plus I'm poor).

I think nobody will ever use all the option, but I think the options mentioned before will already do it for me.

I am sure you are not poor at all, but just scared to become an editing addict :)
